Dynamic Symbols lets you instantly switch between different symbol shapes with just one click — while preserving the symbol’s exact position, size, and rotation in your 3D model.
- Step 1: Select any symbol from the Dynamic Symbols toolbar.
- Step 2: Click Yes when prompted to place the symbol at your cursor.
- Switch Shapes: To change the symbol type, select it and click any other symbol icon in the toolbar. The geometry updates instantly!
2. One-Click Color Change – Keep Position & Orientation
Change the color of your diagram symbols instantly without editing materials or opening nested components manually.
- Step 1: Select the symbol in your SketchUp viewport.
- Step 2: Click the Color Button in the Dynamic Symbols palette.
- Step 3: Choose your color from the picker — done!
- Tip: The plugin automatically remembers your last 5 colors for fast access.
3. Create Animated Diagrams
Automatically generate animated scenes that bring your circulation and flow symbols to life — ideal for presentation boards, videos, and reels.
- Step 1: Select the Dynamic Symbols you want to animate.
- Step 2: Click Create Animation. The plugin automatically creates 3 animation scenes:
Feb_F1,Feb_F2,Feb_F3. - Step 3: Go to File → Export → Animation in SketchUp to render your high-quality video clip.

What is Dynamic Symbols used for?
Dynamic Symbols is a SketchUp plugin that provides a comprehensive library of animated 2D/3D architectural symbols (wind arrows, pedestrian flows, traffic, sun rays). It enables architects and designers to rapidly swap shapes, customize colors, and generate smooth motion scene transitions for diagram presentations.
Which versions of SketchUp are supported?
The plugin supports SketchUp 2020 and newer versions on both Windows and macOS (including native Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3).
Can I use the plugin for commercial projects?
Yes. Both the Free and Pro/Studio versions are fully licensed for commercial work, architectural competitions, and client presentations.
Where can I find sample files using this plugin?
You can download free sample files at ArchiDiagram.com or via our Instagram (@febhouse_com). These files can be opened directly in SketchUp without needing the plugins installed beforehand.
What are the different versions of Dynamic Symbols?
We offer three options to suit your needs:

What is the difference between the Studio and Pro versions?
Both versions offer the exact same features (unlimited animations, one-click color changes, full library). The difference lies in the licensing model:
- Studio: Annual subscription ($12/year), managed via Extension Warehouse with automatic updates.
- Pro: Designed for long-term ownership. One-time payment for lifetime access ($29), includes free lifetime updates, and supports offline activation.
Where is my License Key for the Studio version?
You do not need a License Key for the Studio version. The license is automatically linked to the email address associated with your SketchUp Trimble account. Simply install the plugin and start working.
Can I use the plugin on multiple computers?
- Studio: Yes, simply log into your SketchUp account on the new computer and install the extension from the Warehouse.
- Pro: The lifetime license is for individual use. You may install it on multiple personal machines (e.g. desktop and laptop), but concurrent use by different people or sharing the key is prohibited.
I already own the Pro version. Do I need to subscribe to the Studio version?
No. Your Pro license is valid for a lifetime and already includes free updates. The Studio version is simply an alternative for users who prefer subscription-based billing.
Why does my exported animation flicker, or the arrows just pop up?
This happens when SketchUp's scene transitions are disabled. To fix this, go to Window > Model Info > Animation and make sure the "Enable scene transitions" option is checked.
How do I install the plugin?
- Free/Studio: Open SketchUp > Extension Warehouse > Search for "Dynamic Symbols" (by Febhouse) > Click "Install" or "Try or Purchase".
- Pro: After purchasing, download the ZIP/RBZ file. Open SketchUp > Extension Manager > Click "Install Extension" and select the .rbz file.
Do you offer refunds?

I installed the plugin, but the interface isn't showing. What should I do?
Ensure you are running SketchUp 2020 or newer, and verify that "Extensions" are enabled in your SketchUp Preferences. If the issue persists, please contact our support team at info@febhouse.com.
I received an "SSL_connect" activation error. How do I fix this?
This error indicates that your network or firewall is blocking the connection required to verify your license. To resolve it:
- Ensure your computer's system date and time are accurate.
- Try connecting to a different network (like a mobile hotspot) for initial one-time activation.
- Verify that you are using an official version of SketchUp.
Can I use the Dynamic Symbols plugin if I am working offline?
Yes. Dynamic Symbols Pro and Standard can operate entirely offline once installed and activated.
How do I cancel my subscription or free trial for Studio? Will I be charged automatically?
If you are using the free trial of the Studio extension on Extension Warehouse, you will not be charged automatically when the trial expires. You only pay if you explicitly choose to subscribe. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time directly through your Trimble SketchUp account management page.
I purchased Dynamic Symbols Pro on SketchUcation, how do I activate my license?
First, ensure you have downloaded and installed the SketchUcation Tools extension. To activate your license, open SketchUp > Extensions > SketchUcation > SCFLicense, select Dynamic Symbols Pro, and validate your license key file.
Why is the version on SketchUcation/Gumroad higher than on Extension Warehouse?
Updates are released faster on SketchUcation and Gumroad. The official SketchUp Extension Warehouse has a strict review process that takes several weeks, which can cause a temporary version discrepancy while new builds await approval.
